I tried melting an old silver quarter of mine to pour into a ring mold I made today, But it wouldnt melt. I was using a propane torch and a lead pouring ladle.

I've watched your video several times, and still don't know, what are you pouring into? And what did it create?

its red hot dont touch it how bad did it heart
-
Do you burn yourself a lot?

Dude your camera suck get a new one

Great safety, no gloves, breathing in toxic fumes, and I bet you don't wear eye specs. Get a tiny fragment of that shit reacting to water, and you're going to be blinded for ever!

whats the purpose of the ingot. you can sell the scrap silver and save the trouble.

I like your process. How did you make the makeshift forge you used to melt the metal? also GLOVES!! USE EM YOU NUT CASE! or at least use them fine looking tongs! also your saying the temps in Celsius whats the Fahrenheit temp for melting silver?

ROFL.
what kind of metal cup did you use to melt the silver in and what is the melting point of the silver?
firebolt97 3 years ago
this is a graphite crucible which contains no metal at all.
The melting point of puresilver is 961oC and sterling silver 893.

Sumermagor 3 years ago

HUH? Wish the video was of better quality. I would have like to see what was going on and maybe have a narrative.

Yes I know why, I have converted it by Quicktime from the AVI form my camera to FLV. Later I found out that using Riva the quality is much better and no larger file size.
