The original 1982 ident music for Channel 4 was written by David Dundas. Numerous variations of the same idea were used. Here are a few examples of the different versions heard on the channel.

  • The very last one is not a variation of Fourscore. That theme replaced Fourscore in 1992 so they didn't have to pay £3.50 every time they played the ident.

  • @15hl Yes, I realised that after I uploaded the video, but I couldn't be bothered to alter it.

  • I love all of them (perhaps not the reggae version, a little bit naff!), but I particularly like the very last one, sorry Mr Dundas.

  • the 4th and 5th and 7th ones rock

  • The first one is my favourite - I love the drum roll at the beginning and end of the rather dramatic fourscore.
