We look at the home Austrian architect Michael Strobl converted from his parents' and grand-parents' three-family house in Salzburg. It's now a two-family abode called House 23 . It was first built in 1936 by Strobl's grand-father. In 2000 Strobl then converted it by getting rid of some of the concrete walls and putting up large windows for a wonderful panoramic view of the Alps.
Looking at the whole volume of this house, it's quite obvious that its final shape is a both symmetrical and radically different reflection of the classical, clear and clean originating shape. In the end, I like the details that make the whole and I inevitably would have kept the volume a bit more... ordered.

But there is a sincere attraction towards the light which finds response in the large windows that freshly open the inside towards nature. Anyway, the architect placed many other small surprises all around the house, such as the small windows behind the couch inside his favourite room.

The materials are well-chosen and, in this regard, the exterior-to-interior transition is handled pretty good yet I'd personally prefer the small accents such as the gravel at the interior instead of large gestures such as the use of the cement-fiber panels on the exterior as well as on some of the interior furniture.
