Might want to check the report King is referring to. The report says 27% of inmates in federal prisons are non-citizens, that means both legal and illegal immigrants. They don't tell you what the percent is for state and local jails. That's because Rep. King didn't ask for it. According to the Department of Justice, non-citizens (both legal and illegal) account for 4.6% of state and local. Put together, that means foreigners account for 6.4% of the prison population, not 28%.
Keep this in mind. Foreign Aliens make up only about about 8% of population, yet they account for 30% of the violent crimes. That means they are 3 times more likely to cause crime than citizens.
I suspect legal aliens account for little crime, and most of the crime is committed by illegal aliens.
