I used the beautiful melody of Kojo No Tsuki to start an improvisation that has (in my opinion) the same melancholic and metidative feeling.

Lately i have been improvising over this melody, so a couple of things that i play in the first half of the video are not improvised, but the variations of them and most of the things i play are improvised.
At the end i focused more into playing variations of Kojo´s melody.

I didn´t realize that is 7 minutes long, i hope you like it and understand the feeling i was trying to create.

Kojo No Tsuki was composed by Rentaro Taki in 1901. The name means something like "the moonlight over the desolate castle".

Compuesta por Rentaro Taki en 1901, su nombre significa "La luz de la luna sobre un castillo desolado"

  • Hirajoshi scale (one of the Japan scales) is the first scale I ever learned. This music sound quite similiar to this scale.

    Good work!

  • the hirajoshi scale has a very exotic and unique sound. it must be weird (and great too) to learn that scale before all others!

    thanks for your comment.
