A Special Christmas Card - Bradford District Burglary Campaign

A ten year old girl's letter is the focal point of this year's Bradford District Christmas burglary campaign. The letter was written to the man who burgled her home and left her scared to return or go out in the area.

Amy Winteridge wrote down her feelings so that they could be read out at a meeting her Mum had with the man who had burgled them as part of West Yorkshire Probation Service's restorative justice process. On reading the letter the man was visibly moved by what Amy had to say.

This is a very good video, letter. Burglars robbed us on Christmas Day, every Christmas I have to get pass that thought and enjoy the holidays.

Amy this was a very brave thing to do, what a strong person you are for writing this letter, great job!!! I know this will help you heal and grow in your strength, it is sad to find out first hand at such a young age other people can be this cruel. This experience can serve you well now and in the future to trust your instincts and have strong boundaries around people that you feel uncomfortable with and standup like you did this time and say, "This is not ok with me, this is how I feel. :)
