@familyfeudfan95 Bob Barker had a MUCH bigger ego that Richard even TRIED to have at his worst! At least he wasn't sued by staff members, and having 'hanky panky' with them as well!

I really dont think he was that much of an attention grabber. Every panelist got that much attention, Richard had a nag for.matching the.contestants and thats why they picked him, he probably did FF because he was on MG for.a longtime. Anyway, if he was really as egotistical as you say he would of Left Hogans Heroes where he was not the main character.

Well, the new interview Dawson did for Emmy Legends: he stated the real reason why he left was because he did the show for a long time, he had a real busy schedule filming both Match Game and the Feud, and he thought that the questions by the end of his run was getting way to smutty at the end. Kind of surprised he didn't mention the Star Wheel.

Dawson is nothing but an attention grabber...I bet he was pissed about the fact that he did not gain any after the Star Wheel was added. All he wanted was attention, and that is why he won an Emmy in 1978 during Family Feud run #1. I will always admire him for his achievements, but definitely not his swelling ego.

One reason I heard was he wanted to get out of his contract but they wouldn't let him so he was acting like this hoping they might just do so!

Richard Dawson wasn't unhappy because of the lack of money he made,that's for sure.He was unfortunately under contract to Match Game & Family Feud was burying it alive in the Neilsens.Besides,the Feud allowed him to be the center of attention,as opposed to MG where he shared the spotlight with 6 others,Gene Rayburn included.
