Study the example of this prophet if you wish to be a fundamentalist.
If you want to win a debate, you must use the method of this prophet.

Fair Use!
Oh, and no atheistic scientists were hurt in the making of Full Metal Alchemist.

  • nope thats just an example of someone using relgion for their own selfish benifits. if you watched the whole episode you would no that the preist is a fake

  • "someone using relgion for their own selfish benifits"

    "the preist is a fake"

I contend that most megachurch pastors, all faith healers, and people like Kent Hovind, are exactly that. They still argue for the beliefs that make them money, whether they really believe them or not.

  • and what about the part where ed tells rose that the sun is just a ball of burning Hydrogen, get too close to it and u'll burn too (or something similar.)

  • That could be a follow-up called "typical heresy".

  • I think people are missing the two anologies here.

    A) Traditionally standing against theisim had the death penalty, and B) When debating and arguing doesn't work, personal attacks are resorted against by thiests.

  • You have grasped this video perfectly.

It's actually more like the last 10 seconds of an argument. Skipped right to the threats of divine judgement. Apparently, "god's wrath" is a machine gun.

  • the atheist one in the long run you know

  • I always thought the corrupt priest and the way Rose Is so blindly following her religion was a very real reference to how religious people are in real life.

  • The first 'I' in 'full metal alchemist' is actually a capitalized 'i'. So it actually says 'fail metal alchemist', which just has a funny ring to it :p

But this series was pretty fun, as was the movie.

The video was spot on btw.

  • .....why do people care what atheists do we dont start wars,we don't go over board like theists do. I heard not too long ago about a Christian group that loves to preach the word of god to dead soldiers families... If you know what I'm talking about comment back oh and here's a hint... Every other Christian hates this group and I DO TOO!

  • awesome comparison

  • @TheQuestioner132 Oh I was not trying to say that it was.. I just watch all my anime in Japanese with subs cuz I like em a lot better that way. It just clicks for me, you know. Dubbed always feels "fake" to me. Call me silly but that is how i feel in general ;)

  • Yeah, summed up pretty well, but the real thing would be way cooler, and possibly even more efficient, if we could use alchemy the way they do in the clip.

  • This reminds me of a show I watched once. Two characters were at this baptism in the middle of a river or lake or something, I don't know. One of them was Jewish. The other continually dunked him under the water, trying to get him to accept Jesus. At one point, he says "Do you accept Jesus Christ as your lord and savior?", or something to that effect. The other says no before being dunked under the water yet again. He ends up drowning.

    Religion in a nutshell.

  • @zottejakke3 Yes! I have no idea what this 'wiabu' virus is, but the rewriting and voice acting in English dubs is almost always terrible. Japanese with English subtitles is the best way to watch it.

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is so good in part because of the character and story of Truth (god).

  • @FIGHTFANNERD3 FMA is a japanese show, their views on the matter is not the same as us, occidentals. The fact that the main character is a (badass) atheist was not in order to promote atheism but simply used to accentuate the debate between faith and rationality and how those can both be deceiving. Note how some other work from the same author is about a young monk going on a journey to achieve some mythical prophecy.. what does that tell you? Atheist theist or neither? Probably the third option
