http://www.bipolaradvantage.com Rage becomes our advantage when:

we understand it so well that we no longer rage

are able to calm other people down from their rages

help other people to understand it so well that they can do the same

we have our bipolar disorder under control

  • Anger is a good emotion; it is natural to get into a rage in certain circumstances. I would not advocate getting into a rage for somebody stepping on your toes, literally or figuratively. But if somebody is violating you and yours seriously then rage is a good thing--might even save your life. Everything is good if used correctly and not good if abused or not controlled. I never have a problem with rage. Only had it a few times and I needed it at the time--solved the problem---PEACE!

  • teaparty,

You hit on a very important point - "Everything is good if used correctly and not good if abused or not controlled."

That is a central concept to the Bipolar Advantage. When we understand ourselves and have control over our behavior, then we can turn every thought and feeling to our advantage. Mastering Rage is not about making the feelings go away, it is understanding it so well that we have the choice of how to respond with wisdom.

  • I can be overly emotional. I do not like that. When I pray to GOD , I am much more able to control my temper. Recently I prayed and a MINUTE later I ran into someone who doesn't like me and my husband and had gossiped. Only GOD helped me to not say anything

  • Sounds like you should pray all the time!

  • Reality is an illusion. Bipolar is the label they give you when you come to this realization and the veil is lifted from the illusion that we are conditioned to perceive to be reality. The truth is stranger than fiction and perception is not realtity.

  • @vbakster2 lol wat if ur an athiest and your bipolar now who do u pray to?

  • This guy has one enormous ego.

  • Thanks, I am learning how to identify triggers, and some of them reside in my home. Must I remove myself until I get a grip on life?

  • In my Anger Management Course, I am trying to learn how to cope with my rage and identify the triggers that set me off. It seems to make sense to remove yourself from the trigger until learning how to control the rage. But must I remove myself from my family in order to get a grip on things?

  • I rage because I'm overly anxious and unable to socialize, and if someone is angry to someone else, what goes inside my head is not to calm them down, but to feel identified to one of them. Sooooooooooooo................ I'm not bipolar, I reject your request.

  • and we live in a world that a society convinces nations to commit genocides and manipulates people through fear and/or religion into validating and being proud of that and when you remind people of that they can't even say anything about their disregard for life and I see it that way... I grew up manic depressive and was violent as a kid and am against violence unless it was in a situation that absolute survival depends on it, it is ineffective and degrades humans as a whole.

  • I agree.

  • a simple solution being taken out back and being shot

  • What is meant then, by righteous anger and outrage?

Is it in order to control anothers behavior?
