A great clip from the 80's band with Mark King on bass and the fantastic Alun Murphy on guitar who played for both Go West and Level 42 but sadly no longer with us.
As soon as the track starts you can tell MK is there with the slap intro and in this video he is playing a Jaydee Supernatural in Pearl blue. This was fimed at the 1987 Princes Trust Concert.

  • Level 42's Mark King and Go West perform "Don't Look Down" live at the princes trust concert ????? Erm it wasn't just Mark King. At 1:12 you can clearly see Mike Lindup playing his keyboard. And Go West's drummer was absolutely crap. Did Gary Husband actually let him play his drums? Shocking!!!!!!

  • I am so glad you pointed out Mike Lindup there i would never have noticed DUH!!

  • finally this has been posted, bang! with the intro :)

  • You Betcha Lee!!

  • Fantastic Alan Murphy ! Amazing guitar solo. Thanks !

  • Tony Beard was Go West's best drummer - such a powerhouse! You should check out his playing on Hall & Oates Downtown Life you the Tube! :)

  • Oh wow, Go West and level 42, what more can a mortal man want, best in prog rock!!

  • @mgzt190plus I believe that's Mark Brzezicki (Big Country) on drums. He played a lot of these gigs.

  • Rest on peace Alun Murphy such a sad loss you were an amazing guitarist

  • Is there any Go West live clips with Pino Palladino on bass? I suppose not...

  • Back in 1987 Phil Gould was Level 42's drummer, not Gary Husband.

  • For my taste Jimmy Copley was the best drummer Go West had. Thanks for posting, great to see Alan Murphy tear it up in this

  • only alan murphy could upstage marc king, what a ass winding dive bombing cheek clenching solo that was!!!!!

  • Can do without the Vegas-production add-ons, but otherwise this is a special treat for those of us who love Alan Murphy, who gets to cut loose a bit at the end.
