  • This symphony evokes great sentiment for me - it was the first record I bought on leaving school in 1956 - the Mozart Bicentennial Year. The conductor was the incomparable Mozart conductor Bruno Walter. The orch was the Columbia Symphony - a 2-disk record of the full rehearsal and finished performance. And I still have it. Stereo still lay in the future but that made no difference - great music always speaks for itself
