@BaronSamodi I do not believe so. You make a good argument but even if Grunge is a genre Nirvana should not be part of it, what I'm saying is Nirvana doesn't sound like the other "Grunge" bands nor does Mudhoney.

@BaronSamodi In the word of someone much smarter than me "Assuming you took the definition of genre and applied it towards grunge and came up with a similar conclusion, what is known as "grunge" was not a sound or a genre, it was a movement.

The grunge movement rejected any form of high budget production for their sound, thus resulting in many bands considered part of the grunge genre to use similar production methods and not forms, styles or subject matters.
