Hello, this is sunny, welcome back. As we say goodbye to 2011 and welcome the brand new 2012, I wish happiness, prosperity, and peace for you and your family.
As I look back to look forward today, I made 6 New Year's resolutions for all Chinese people both in China and in the United States of America.
Resolution 1: We should be grateful and thankful.
We Chinese should be thankful and grateful for the past 2011. Americans still like to borrow our money and love to buy our "good" products. As you could see on black Friday, take look.
Resolution # 2: Use more bicycles/tricycles
Thirty years ago, almost everybody in China rode a bicycle and everyone was happy.
By August, 2011, the number of cars in the world ---surpassed one billion.
China led the way --and accounts for half---- the entire global growth. That gives China ---the world's second --largest car population with 78 million cars.
Along with this growth come --- air pollution, and high gas price for everyone. The fact that we Chinese are "bad" drivers, make things even worse.
but we Chinese people are-- amazing ---with bicycles and tricycles. No one could beat our skills and efficiency.
Resolution #3: Be more creative with choosing English names.
In China nowadays, many Chinese have English names, and many are very creative with choosing their English name. Take a look.
Resolution 4: Improve our poor English
With China becoming the second largest economy in the world, more foreigners learn our language. Many Americans speak almost perfect Mandarin without any accent. Here is one example.
We Chinese not only need to improve the quality of our products, but also need to improve our poor English. Take a look -- and see how some Chinese speak English.
# 5. Do the right thing
The last but not least New Year's resolution for all Chinese: Do the right thing. Let's take a look at a video clip first.
I guess that they are saying we Chinese did it. But the reality couldn't be further from the truth. In my defense, we Chinese help America in many ways, let me tell you one true story:
Remember, last January Chinese President Hu Jintao came to Washington D.C. for a visit. During the meeting, President Hu noticed that President Obama was nervous, and President Hu said,
"I am not here to ask you to pay back what the US owes China today."
"Thank you very much," President Obama said, but he still looked worried.
"We will lend you more money." said Mr. Hu.
"Thank you," said Mr. Obama, but he still looked troubled.
"What is wrong, Mr. President? " Mr. Hu asked
President Obama hesitated for a moment and said, "Its embarrassing, actually. For this meeting, I prepared many confidential documents. But this morning, I couldn't access to them in my computer. "
"Oh," said Mr. Hu, "Don't worry, let me call my staff back in Beijing----the backups are in my office".
Pretty cool, only recommendation would be to speed it up a little, edit out some of the slowly pauses...but I did enjoy it and thought it to be creative...hen coolio big brother. Xin nian kaui le!!!!
