I don't want to sound rude, because I think it is great when people have something they can hang on to, like their faith, etc. ,,, but seriously, what is it with you americans and your church? Do you can think of a reason why it is so important to you guys in general? We just don't have this movement in the majority of our society, so I'd like to understand.

I may can look up some studies within my library (I'm a social sciences BA), but an inside point of view would be interesting.
