It was a huge storm, dumping a lot of rain in a very short period of time. This has happened several times at this very spot. The drain is 14 feet in diameter, but still somewhat under capacity. About 2 years ago a second twin 14-foot diameter drain was built in the area, running parallel to the original, in an effort to eliminate this problem.
