Richard Fleischer's screen adaptation of Harry Harrison's chilling novel brought screen Legends Charlton Heston and Edward G. Robinson - in his final film - together for a dark and some would say prophetic look into our future.
Soylent Green is one of the most frightening yet underated SF movies of them all. probably because it's not hard to see how it might come true, and none of us wants to look into that mirror.

Soylent Green sounds like something that Mcdonald's will dream up one day in the future. Mind you, I had my suspicions when I recently ate one of their burgers that it had already had been done.

This is so sad because Edward J Robinson died shortly after this film. And so the death scene of Saul in the movie is especially poignant here.
