This is the first part of the video outlining five key principles on how to think like a school math genius. This is the basis of a curriculum I've developed soon to appear as an on-line course for middle- and highschool students and their teachers. (Just thought I'd share some key principles on how to think like a mathematician right now!)

  • You just changed my life Dr., thanks.

  • nevermind I get it: 10! is the equivalent of 10^10/2...is that a good way of solving it, I knew there was a better way than grungy work :)

  • what is the relationship between 10/any other number! and 10^2 or perfect squares? They seem similar in the way you explained them, but I do not fully understand it....

  • Great Video Dr James! My 9 yr old spends a lot of time engaging in mathematical play, he's always looking for calculations to do mentally and he's currently at 113 digits of pi. Playing with maths is the best form of maths revision!

  • WOW! These are fabulous! Some of them I've thought of, some had never crossed my mind. Thanks for sharing these very helpful pointers. Can't wait to share them with my children!
