que bello recuerdo me trae ver cuando er niño y se realizo en mi bello pais el miss universo,toda la familia reunida viendo por el televisor el concurso y todos conicidimos en ese entonces que el jurado se equivoco debio ganar miss sudafrica era la mas bella,ojala los organizadores vuelvan hacer el miss universo en nuestro pais tenemos todas las condiciones economicas y turisticas para realizarlo nuevamente,que bello recuerdo en fin,byee

la miss Brasil no ganó porque en la entrevista se puso muy diforzada y engreída, en cambio la miss Canadá fué un encanto, buena elección!

¡Que excelente performance el de José Luis! Cantando en vivo (con pista musical de fondo) su voz suena fantástica. Y veo que ese año el animador no mencionaba a ningún país durante el desfile, lo que permitía prestar un poco más de atención a la actuación del "Puma". Y bueno, no veo porque se hayan ofendido en Venezuela, si en el concurso, las protagonistas son las chicas, no él.

@HugoBossSuperModel I too was very surprised that Brazil didn't make it. I mean talk about lively, and just full of joy. I really didn't care for her gown, but it was the 80's and a different time. The talk with SA is that a judge must have hit the wrong button during the swimsuit. I mean, remember that she won this round of EG, so it's hard to belive that she would get such a low score and place 10th in SS. My only complaint with Guam was I wished she kept her hair down.

Brazil was very audacious and sexy! I think that type of unique style and flair should be applauded and not criticized. I liked her and feel she should have been in the Top 5 with Canada and Italy. The other 2 spots been disputed by South Africa, Greece, Guam and Uruguay. Greece and SA were more attractive but didn't have the charisma and stage presence of either Guam or Uruguay.

Pero Donny Osmond tuvo mucha más participación (en los 3 números musicales) incluyendo al central con todas las candidatas alegórico al respectivo país donde se realizaba: Australia (1979) y Corea (1980); además de en los números con las semifinalistas en traje de gala y con las 5 finalistas; ediciones en las que incluso tuvo a su cargo presentar a los miembros del jurado.

I remember this pageant (I am from Peru) - omg, it was a scandal when Brazil and South Africa didn't get to the next round, they were really gorgeous and the ugly finalists like Italy, who did make it to the next round, were horrendously booed.
