I assure you they did not depict themselves as white. Also read a book called Black Athena for forensic proofs.

Of course from a biblical perspective Egypt would have had to have been the same race as Isra'el, Canaan, Phoenicians, Media and so forth. The lack of forensic evidence for the black-african racial type in these regions (mesopotamia, assyria, the levant, and the nile delta etc) shows that they biblically would not have been of another racial type as they descended of Noah who was perfect in his lineage.
