  • can you do collision animation with autocad? or it is not posible with it?

  • @stevster85 nope, no motion animation, only camera view.

  • It was drawn using autocad 2005. I incorporated solids with 3Dface and that is all.

I got 2008 after the car was drawn, so the camera and rendering were done with that. That is all it is. My other car was done using solids and 3D mesh, which make a big improvement over this car. Just look at the windshield for example. I have never tried 3D Max , but I bet it rocks for this type of stuff.

  • quite good, but you should add some fillet on this model. it will look better ;)

  • Your right

those are solids in the front

but this was as much as it wanted to take

    don't know why

  • did you make this

  • I make the car with autocad 2005 then I got 2008 and rendered it with that.

  • @cyther39 cause its made to difficult, but 3D s max is really good, but not easy, i work the most with sketchup, its easy, if you can work with it at least, you can make nice models ;)

  • i work with autocad too, try using SketchUp 8 its so much better!!! really

  • why do autocad models don't look as good as 3dsmax or other modeling software?

  • it's not bad for a first, but you have much to improve, continue practicing

  • Yes, you can fillet almost all edges in 3D. Works the same just like 2D, select fillet, type radius, click on edge you want to fillet, confirm the radius and click other edges and then press enter or right mouse button ;) It should work, but some edges are impossible to fillet. Don't know why. To be honest, AutoCAD is great for 2D but for 3D I prefer Inventor, SolidWorks or Catia. They are much better and the work with them is much easier.

  • @GarfieldRHoone Is it even possible to fillet 3D? I tried before and it didn't do anything. Although I didn't really understand how to use my UCS when I did that maybe that's why it didn't work.

  • Thats pretty good. I wanna draw something like this but the car I wanna draw is more rounded and I'm trying to figure out how can make the edges more rounded. I'm using Autocad MEP 2010.
