Hidden Tiger(aka Balance of Power)(1996)

A martial arts expert who runs a dojo for under-privileged kids from a dilapidated warehouse is shaken down by gangsters demanding protection money. Then when one of his students is gunned down in the street by the gang, he swears revenge. Meanwhile the gang leader is setting up a death match between the best fighters and is forcing a former trainer to find a new champion by threatening his granddaughter.

Thanks for another decent martial arts movie. Is Balance of Power the US title as I remember the box cover in UK on vhs from years ago titled Hiden Tiger. I wanted to rent it just from the cover but never did. Or is it so ppl dont get confused with Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon?

You don't watch a martial arts movie to see good acting you watch it to see kick ass fight scenes....If you want acting watch a Tom Hanks or Robert DeNiro movie..

If you want good fights you watch Billy Blanks, Cynthia Rothrock or Jeff Wincott etc.
