  • What people FAIL TO REALIZE AND UNDERSTAND is that it shouldn't be DIGITAL vs FILM. It's whatever best suits the project you're working on. If digital is going to help you achieve your vision better than film, than use it. If film will, then use film. The point is that the options are there. STOP SAYING DIGITAL OR FILM IS BETTER THAN ONE OR THE OTHER THEY ARE TWO SEPARATE THINGS

  • You could not be more incorrect. The new theaters here in KC have the new 4k projectors, all digital sound systems, etc. This also resolves asset management issues with film, masters, etc. It's here. It's the future, and it is cheaper to own and operate on the theater's side.

  • @icecastles Because he cannot upload it in 120p or even "better" 60p

  • @MLBuckProductions it's like photography. Eventually everyone just end up using digital. Even the pros

  • Why on earth would you upload this at 240p? It's beautiful footage... I think.

  • Ignorant comments amuse me... :D

  • you've seen better footage from the 7D? 7D is not even worth mentioning in the same sentence with the Red one. Obviously this footage was not properly rendered, thats why is so crappy.

  • @Urbanvizion My thoughts exactly

  • i seen better footage from the cannon 7d

  • Some nice shots, but it would be nice to see these in HD. The compression/downrez just kills everything.

  • ofc there are, just look for screens bigger than 26".. a 30" wide has 2560x1600, but also expect to cost it 1500 USD+...

  • Are we honestly still having the HD vs. film debate? I remember having a similar 'debate' over ProTools vs. analog or Avid vs. flatbed editing 10 years ago... the FACT is that the people at home don't know the difference. Bottom line.

It comes down to glass... I've seen film look terrible with bad optics, same thing with HD. Watch "Collateral" if the 'purists' want to bash the format.

Personally, I want to shoot at 1/10th the price and have the footage instantly... but call me crazy ;)
