The Airplaco 914 Dry-Mix Gunite Mobile Batch Plant is shown with the C-10 Gunite Machine on a pool building job in Southern California. The contractor on the job is Precision Gunite. Equipment provider is Gunite Supply & Equipment of Monrovia, CA. The video begins by showing how the 914 gunite batch plant is loaded with sand and cement at Precision's yard in Coachella, CA. After a customer testimonial from Precision on the 914 gunite batch plan, the video then shows the batch plant arriving on the jobsite. The driver lowers the auger to meet the C-10 gunite machine and begins the material mixing and flow to the gunite machine. We see the communication between the gunite machine operator and the nozzleman, who holds the nozzle at the end of the gunite hose attached to the C-10. The nozzleman has the responsibiliy of controling the water content in the mix. The material (sand/cment) is mixed dry in the 914 gunite batch plant by an exclusive hydraulic ratio system. The material is then fed dry into the C-10 gunite machine which also propels the dry material through the gunite hose to the nozzle, where the nozzleman hydrates the material to the desired consistency (also known as "slump"). The 914 mobile batch plant features hard faced feed and mix augers (no belts) that are used to proportion the material. The 914 mix operator can easily control the amount of sand or cement with the touch of a dial. The C-10 Gunite machine is often powered off the 914 batch plant via a hydraulic hookup. Model C-10HHD includes a hydaulic motor while model C-10SL includes a 9HP air motor. The C-10 gunite machine propels material through the guinte hose up to 1,000 feet horizontal and 300 ft vertical. The nozzleman places the material using a gunite nozzle, which is available in various styles. The nozzleman may be trained and certified by the American Shotcrete Association (www.shotcrete.org). This can give the Gunite crew additional credibility in a competitive market. As the nozzleman sprays the material, other crew members shape, cut and generaly finish the surfaces using a variety of hand tools. The 914 Gunite batch plant allows contractors to mix their own material, eliminating the need to hire ready-mix truck deliveries. This eliminaties the extra expense involved in hiring the Ready-Mix and the anxiety and down-time waiting for the Ready-Mix truck to show up on the jobsite.
