  • I love the song you have at the end :-) On another note, you're right about him having to change up the way he approaches his Mom when talking about something this serious. Great advice!

  • Momo, I never thanked you for replying to that letter. Things have settled down with my mom, as far as I know. She moved from my town to just south of Calgary, which is about 6 hours away. I still see her every once in a while and as far as I know, her habit of going out every night and drinking has stopped. She'll occasionally go out, like a normal person would, which is fine. I just stayed as positive as I could and things worked out. Thanks again, Momo.

  • my parents are split. my dad is far away. my mom is in love with someone that treats us like shit. he's a very big hypocrite. if we stay up late on games he tells my mom and she takes our stuff away. Even tho he plays games, and he says he doesn't to her. I've tried and tried so many times to talk to her, but wont listen. she says she doesnt treat us bad but she and he does. i always wanted to move my with my dad but she wont let me. and its hell here

  • AWESOME ADVICE!

    Peace out!!

  • The honest truth to andrew is; you can't change your mom's drinking habits. You can only change yourself. Get a full-time job, pay the bills, teach your younger brothers, but you can only encourage your mom. I've had a situation in this getting my mom's ex drugie step-father out the house when I was 12-15. It took my three years, asking nicely for him to leave, & by humiliating him. But it's something that you'll have to learn through trial, not by advice giving.

  • its not always the mother. it can also be a friends at her job or troublesome relatives that say they are getting on their feet just to mess your family up more

  • yeah its true, im experiencing this myself. and what's sad is that im getting ready to try to go to college, but my mom could be using me, but her troublesome brother hates the fact that me and my sisters still have love for my dad.
