Residents and school children from the Southbrook estate in Daventry work together on a project to create a garden area in an unused area of the local school grounds.
Daventry & District Housing joined forces with its community partners to run the eight-week project, dubbed 'lads and dads'.
The project is based around planting, growing, and eating produce from the garden. Parents were invited into the school to help put up wooden fencing, and create a quiet seating area for sit down games. Raised beds have been built up and allocated to the schoolchildren, with a separate bed for each class.
The project is designed to get parents and children involved in working together to improve the area, providing volunteering experience and supporting community cohesion.
