My son got confident in his ablity an got courage to shoot the .40 caliber which he was so scare to shoot and did it very well, I am proud of him.

@Master7770 remember this is his first time with a 40 cal pistol, the magazine was empty because the slide was open which happens when the follower in the magazine pushes the slide release upwards catching the slide, yes he needs more practice and that is exactly why I take him to shoot.

I would've loved my parents taking me out to shoot when I was younger. I wouldn't have to get over the "fear" of guns that they (with good meaning, I'm sure) instilled in me. Props to the dad for being willing to teach and have his kid understand dangers and safe procedures.

i see a lot of videos like this one kids do need to know what guns can do but do not put a gun in someone hands when they do not how to hold a handgun the right way thats how you get shot

Fantastic! I would be proud of him too! I wish more young folks were trained up as well as you have been teaching him! I am taking my 3 sons to appleseedinfo event next month for rifle training. Great inexpensive training for everyone. Check it out!

@NC198600 That is not usually the case for handgun ammunition. The 180gr ammo usually has a lower velocity than the lighter ammo. Now the advantage to the heavier weight bullets is obviously more kinetic energy transfer. The lighter 135gr(usually only found as JHPs[jacketed hollow-point]) are made to penetrate multiple layers of clothing before the petals deploy. This keeps them from over-penetrating and striking an innocent bystander who may be behind said perpetrator.
