The only reason why this vid is titled "Republicans, Laugh at This" is because the party--in a demeaning and unprofessional way--decided to mock the very industry of social organization. Your president--which he is since you're an American I presume--will go down in history as one of the most active, the most daring and the most hopeful. It will be recorded in print that he dared when no one would. That's what organizers do. ;)

Thank you for this! As a social worker, I was beyond appalled by the snide remarks and snickering about community organizers. WE (community workers, volunteers, social activists, teachers, etc.) are the people who made this country what it is. And if you think about it, the greatest leaders we've ever had are those who started out working with the people. How can one know what the people truly need if one is so far removed.

essentially the repulicans, or at least guiliani are hypocrites on this score- they tell us that they're in favor of local community standards influencing legislation (usually on social issues) and faith based intiatives, but then they slam them like this.

How dare Palin!? People who organize are better as people than Palin, McCain, and Giuliani could EVER hope to be. But they wouldn't know anything about that. Helping out the disadvantaged, bettering the lives of those around them, this is something Palin could NEVER understand.
