Oil wealth 'kept from Azerbaijan's poor' - 26 Jan 08

Azerbaijan has potentially lucrative oil reserves, but opposition politicians say widespread corruption has left revenues from the country's natural resources in the hands of a small number of government allies.

Instead of helping its poor, miserable refugees that Azerbaijan continuously uses to attract pity, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev spends $44,000,000 from his "annual $228,000" to buy his 11 year old boy a mansion in Dubai. Recently, Azerbaijan spent $33,000,000 to place a huge flag in Baku, which got torn and replaced, and torn again due to strong winds.

Why not spend that precious oil money on the refugees instead of expecting the US to send aid to them?? What a shameful disgrace.

Azerbaijan has oil, but most of it is owned by western companies. Why is that? Many arabic countries own their own oil almost 100%, why is that? there's nothing to be proud of while this is happening. Only little of it is in Azerbaijani companies hands. If a man is proud of Azeri oil production it's okay but he's missing some parts of it. Muhahaha! Sorry but it's true :-)

@MisFoxxxy yes I know that uneducated people would say. but i dont think that president of Azerbaijan is uneducated cause he always says that Yerevan is azeri city:))). relations with azerbaijan is realy "could not be worse". I dont see any ways to get out of that situation.

armenia has many economic problems to we have border blokade by turks azeri and many times georgia no sea no oil no gas your oil rich superior country is dieng for hunger and in armenia we much more sucses i am so proud if we had that oil and gas sea well then that cud be the end of turkey and now we are liveing better than the azeri

@MisFoxxxy I know my dear that ur country is very young. But go and ask any azeri. he will say that yerevan which is 2792 yeas old, was "azeri teretory" though azerbaijan, which is populated mostly by ethnic turks, was created in 20-th century ( republic of azerbaijan don't confuse with northern iranian azerbaijan) with support of england.
