Undercutting the Honda Insight, this new petrol-electric Jazz is the cheapest hybrid on sale and the first ever hybrid supermini. We tested it out to see if adding eco friendliness to the Jazz's list of accomplishments will be enough to attract the attention of green car buyers.

  • Does this version come with an independent rear suspension?

  • diesel car pop pop pop pop

  • great car

  • I would love to see the Honda Jazz fitted with Honda's brilliant and wonderful i-CTDI diesel;it's quiet it's economical it's smooth it's green and it produces great economy with good emission levels to boot. Diesels in citycars have slightly more oomph and better pulling power down in the lower torque range and that's what is attractive to buyers as well as the economy and green aspects.

  • Very very very good review. "biddy bus" Love it. Carry on.

  • good + sensible review!

  • The LEA engine as is present in the CR-Z would be ideal for the JAZZ.

    (and CR-Z needs something bigger)

for lumbs it is way better to use 1.4 L of unleaded than 1.0 L of diesel.

going hybrid is not the easy way, but it is the good way.

diesel is just junk in the city, diesel is good for long roads, or trucks, a diesel in the city is just an error.

  • @TangoR34

co2 is not a problem .... but those carbon particles from diesels produces cancer....never ever buy those dirty diesel for city driving that´s for sure; Hybrid´s or E-Cars are optimal for cities

  • Hybrid doesn't work well on small cars. The motor and batteries saps up so much power off this engine especially its a series hybrid. The engine has to work harder with the electric-motor when it's charging. Works better if it has a bigger engine with a parallel hybrid so there will still be enough horsepower to haul you around with enough horsepower only when it needs charging.

  • @kubanskiloewe Did you not hear him say diesel emit less CO2 than the hybrid?
