With the referee poised to blow his whistle to end the April 1960 Danish match in which Nørager were leading Ebeltoft 4-3, the trailing side launched one last assault on the home goal.
The official, Henning Erikstrup, pursed his lips and blew loudly only for no sound to be forthcoming, as his false teeth came flying out of his mouth. As Erikstrup desperately grabbed for the missing molars, Ebeltoft put the ball in the net for an equaliser.
Erikstrup found the false teethm rammed them back into his mouth and disallowed the goal. Ebeltoft protested unsuccessfully to the authorities that the game was not formally over when they had equalised, but Erikstrup commented: I had to get them back before some layer put his big boot on them.
