The band "Strange Advance", one of my favorites, was a Canadian band that shone brightly during the eighties....the bands history can be found here:

On quiet evenings in a darkened room, bathed in the light of a single candle, wrapped in wisps of Nag Champa, feet up on my desk, glass of brandy in hand, watching the moon between my toes as she climbs a star strewn sky, I drift back to days gone by and visit those moments that bring a smile to my face and send a surge of warmth up my spine, to see the smiles and hear the laughter of friends and family, some far away and those long since gone, to visit those moments in time as fresh and new, having not suffered the vagaries of distance nor passage of time....and looking up at those stars sometimes I wonder.......would I be happy and contented were I allowed to traverse the Universe for eternity in the fashion of Bruce Dern in "Silent Running"?????....laying on my back staring up at the heavens...as I drift away with a smile.......I ponder ever so briefly my answer....then as my hands grip the railing at the imaginary command station I shout..... "YES!!!!....OH SWEET JESUS YES!!!!.....let me course the Universe forever and forever and one more single bliss filled day....but if not that then I will remain content having less than that.....content to let me....earthbound and within my mind...to imagine the vast expanse...the endless reaches of that which God has, with talented tips of providential fingers, created for nothing less....so selfishly spoken.....than my own personal enjoyment.......oh....how I wish it were true...how I wish, with baggage packed....my ship left tonight.......

(Truth be known, if my bags were searched as I boarded that ship they would probably find stuffed into my Samsonites, a couple of cats and a Pomeranian with the disposition of a hungover ferret.........)

I love this song; the lyrics are fantastic. I picked this LP up two years ago in a pawn shop in near mint condition along with The Twins Modern Lifestyle LP. Two terrific finds for under $5. The imagery in the video is very nice as well. Thanks. 5/5 stars.

I purchased this record at Tower Records days prior to June 19, 1982 along with Bryan Adams Cuts Like A Knife and Red Rockers China. I kept a journal of my Top 40. I bought World's Away the instant I saw it available. I had heard it on the radio a few times and liked it.
