Between three and four million people are estimated to have been killed in a war which has raged ignored through the DRC since 1998.

We visit Bunia in Ituri province, the scene of the most recent massacres, to ask why it was that though everyone expected these atrocities no preventative measures were taken.

Just disband the UN peacekeepers. They're worthless here. Worthless in Rwanda. Worthless in Srebrenica. EVerytime it's the same thing. Them standing by as people are butchered.

@ivangrozny27 it's just a long process-- the world cannot tolerate 'huge complex tribal society' forever in this modern world. Iraq is simply going thru a maturing phase- and people will be amazed at their progress in decades to come. Which is why most of the middle east is in upheaval , because even 'tribal' societies want to change and enter the modern world and push off those barbaric traditions of violence and stupidity
