Bosnia 1 PWO

These video footages are from 1993 in which the 1st Battalion The Prince of Wales's Own Regiment of Yorkshire served as the UN Protection Force contingent in Central Bosnia. The UN mandate was to escort humanitarian aid via certified agencies approved by the UN through the frontlines during May to November 1993. These Videos are just an insite to living and working on the front line.

I have seen the movie's on youtube, and i was also in stari vitez add that time. The footage of de fighting on de hill taken in the school on de britisch base was our bedroom.

I was one of the dutch signals over there.

its muslimans civilians but nobody hurt, This is operation HVO aganst muslimans soldiers who take under his control important comunication trought lasva valley (between city Vitez and Novi Travnik under croatian control). I have 2 hours of this action on video, its pure soldiers wictory. Two HVO soldiers wos kiled and i think cca 25 muslimans soldiers

I served in 1PWO (8PL, C COY) as a Warrior Gunner during Op Grapple 2. These vids bring back a lot of memories, some I thought I had got rid of!

I had never seen the clip you posted where Col. Alistair Duncan talks of the man returning fire from the front sangar - that was me.

I was also with Lee Elleker when he took some shrapnel in the back of the leg getting into our warrior, I went to see him at hospital in Split before going on my R&R, I never saw him again..
