J.S.Bach - St. Matthew Passion (BWV 244), 'Erbarme dich...' Original text : Erbarme dich, mein Gott, Um meiner Zähren Willen ! Shaue hier, Herz und Auge Weint vor dir bitterlich. Erbarme dich, mein Gott ! An English translation: Have mercy, my God, For the sake of my tears ! See here, heart an eye Weep bitterly before you. Have mercy, my God !

It amazes me that someone once described Bach's music as being without any emotion. He is a man clearly touched by God, who can reach out across three hundred years, and put us in touch with our own guilt. He too would have wept to hear Scholl' divine interpretation.

Beautiful. Great music. But the most beautiful version I've ever heard is Nicholas Spanos's. That is just otherworldly with a warmer voice.

Gorgeous music, but the video? Why do you post pictures of bathrooms, instead of art/musicians or something useful/interesting?

err, what? explain? Do you know what you're talking about?

Almost forgot to breathe when watching your video, it is gob-smacking.
I didn´t understand the bits about Dresden, and Willy Brandt and the other chap. Would you please explain?
Keep well,

Hi,
I really would like to explain this, but I prefer doing it in private. Tried to send you a message, but you only allow friends to write, so maybe if you add me as one...;-)

Thank you for you comment. No wonder you were touched by the music.Andreas Scholl is quite unique, and so was Bach.
It's lovely when someone is able to see beyond the images. You seem to have done just that!
