35 key Jan van Eijk fairground organ "Klein Duimpje" (Little Thumb) plays Grandpa's Spells. This probably is the first organ built by Jan van Eijk. The organ now is owned by the Knoebel's family who keep it in their private collection of mechanical musical instruments. Special treat for people who visited the Knoebel's Rally 2010 the private collection of mechanical musical instruments owned by the Knoebel's family was presented on the second day of the Rally. The Rally was hosted by the COAA (Carousel Organ Association of America) - Tim Wagner.

  • @anglerfly The organ was built by Jan van Eijk but the scale of this organ was based on a Limonaire fairground organ. If you look close to the facade you can see Jan van Eijk (builder) and the system (system Limonaire) are painted on the organ.

  • @anglerfly Johnny Van Eijk is Jan van Eijk's Grandson so his family built the organ,it uses the 35 Key Limonaire scale.

  • @anglerfly actually this is a Limonaire :-P

just kidding, but in this case your assessment is much better,

as it is a dutch street organ (draaiorgel/pierement) [just look at dem windmills...]

...the size however would probably allow it to be placed inside a fairground ride,

so the posters terminology is quite understandable.

  • YAY! Thanks for posting ! This is a street organ not a fair organ. The name of the song is " Grandpa's Spells"
