@agranero6 As a Brazilian Charismatic, I reject your view of the movement as empty. Please look for the website of Pe. Paulo Ricardo in Google; he does a lot of formation for Canção Nova's seminarians, along with D. Alberto Taveira of Belém do Pará. He has a lot of videos on doctrinal issues you would do well to view to understand what the CCR thinks about the issues you call heretical about them. The Holy Father, by the way, approves of the way Canção Nova and the RCC operate...

@lion95805 So the written language most common was Greek by the time our Lord walked the earth. Jerusalem was in the Roman empire and our Lord appointed Peter the first head of his Church. Both saints Peter and Paul went to the heart of the Roman Empire, the city of Rome itself where they were martyred and where their remains are today. The apostles carried the word of God across the know world but Peter, being the appointed head was in Rome. The Church grew out of Rome.

@lion95805 The New Testament was written in Greek. Greek was the language of scholars. Many Jews could not even read Hebrew anymore, around 300 BC a translation of the Old Testament from Hebrew into Greek was undertaken, and it was completed around 200 BC. This was called the Septuagint, and was widely accepted and was even used in many synagogues. It also became a wonderful missionary tool for the early Christians, for now the Greeks could read God's Word in their own tongue.

i have a few questions, why does the Catholic church revolves so much around the European culture? i mean, why doesn't the church expose the people more with the middle-eastern origin of the religion? since Jesus lived in a Jewish community, isn't it right for us to acknowledge part of the Hebrew language/culture in our mass? or is always there but i just didn't realize it? i need enlightenment on this.. thanks.. :)

Thanks for your comments. Brought up in the New Rite I find it offensive when some (arrogant) Catholics disparage this form of the Mass. You are correct - I understand the Mass better because it's in my language. My lukewarm response to the Latin Mass is due to the way I have heard this Mass said. However, tonight at Birmingham Oratory there was a beautiful Latin Rite Mass for the Epiphany - I actually loved it. It was a visiting priest, though.

I understand your feelings, and I cannot accept some changes made in the Mass here in Brazil by the Catholic Charismatic Renewal (or Pentecostal Catholic Movement) that made the mass and another rites by them celebrated closer the Pentecostal Evangelicals of USA. Here in Brazil they have millions of followers, what they done to the unit of Catholic church is far worse than the reasons that excommunicated LeFebvre. They alienated people from the church to a mystical fetishist empty sect.
You do not need authorization from any bishop to celebrate the Tridentine Mass, just a priest who is willing to do so and the faithful to attend to it! Read Summorum Pontificum.

As a practicing atheist, I find the Latin Mass and the full Roman liturgy to be one of the most beautiful and uplifting things on earth. Beauty can be of itself and for itself but if you choose to direct it towards a perceived God, then may you be very happy.
