Best ww2 series I have ever seen!

@gsgaidan10 Most experts agree that T-34 and its evolution T-34-85 were the best tanks of WW2 as in overall. Only because the things you said above, ofcourse the Tiger or Panther was more powerful, but they were horrible to maintain and they were very slow to manufacture compared to T-34 and even M4 sherman. Without the T-34, Europe would probably speak German language now.

@theironcup Also T-34 was much more easier to maintain and to recover disabled tanks and make them viable again. 60% of T-34s that were knocked out were restored by maintenance after the battle of Kursk. Every German tank almost was left on the battlefield.

@theironcup Nope, Panther was WAY too complex to manufacture compared to the T-34 and T-34-85. Its like comparing a hand made Swiss clock to a Chinese mass made clocks, also even trough allied terror bombings wich targeted more cities than factiories and still the Germany increased its tank production in 1943 and 1944. History is against your statement.

@normison69 to say a tank made that much difference is laughable. your ignoring the principles of war. if the panthers were allowed to be produced en mass because of no bombing raids on germany, then the t-34 would have failed. if the american lend-lease programme hadnt given the ussr hundreds of petrol tankers then the tanks couldnt have manoeuvred as they did and would have sufferd grave losses, even zhukov acknowledges that. to say one tank did it all.....

The Soviet Union was a victim of aggression & a force for good. The Iron Curtain was Disneyland compared to the new Nazi world order that would have been imposed had Hitler won!

@Achbiter and the US is still rebuilding after 9/11 and hasn't truly recovered over that one terrorist attack. Imagine a full scale war on its borders like Europe had. I think the foreign policy on this side of the Atlantic would change dramatically if that were ever to occur.

True, while the Russians provided most of the blood & military effort needed to defeat Hitler the Americans provided the enormous industrial resources and material wealth required. The US truly was the arsenal of Democracy & supplied its allies with huge quantities of weapons, aid & other material.

Also the US defeated Japan with its right arm behind its back. The major fighting effort for the US was directed in Europe, Japan was secondary.

I miss the noble US of old ;-)
