  • Thanks for your comment - so glad you enjoyed seeing the pictures! Good luck with your 2012 hike, and if you're making your way through Northern Virginia in June, keep an eye out for me!

  • From Amacalola Falls to Fontana Dam, twenty days, including one zero day at NOC. For the nineteen days I was hiking, I averaged 8.9 miles. My shortest day (4.3 miles) came after spending the night in Hiawasee and my longest day (13.7) was the next one from Plumorchard Gap Shelter to the top of Standing Indian Mountain. Interesting that most of my hiking days through Virginia are in the 15 to 20 mile range owing to the gentler terrain.

  • That would be Jon Anderson and Vangelis, "I'll Find My Way Home"

  • I would describe my pace as slow to medium.

  • Great video! I am attempting a NOBO thru in 2012. Loved watching your videos. Thanks!

  • How many days did it take you to go from Springer to Fontana?

  • My video will show the half way point (WV) and a cool Civil War artifact find;

    just punch up my name and go to: Civil War cliff jumper.

  • What song is that? Who is the artist?

  • 1 deadbeat couch potato watched this vid....LOL

  • How long would a hike this distance take someone at a medium pace?
