Heavy Rain, Hail, and Wind - Supercell - Athens, Michigan - 6/21/11

On 6/21/11 at about 6:18 PM, I intercepted a supercell that had split into two different cells abourt two miles northeast of Athens, Michigan. I took the southern cell, which appeared to be strengthing both visually, and on radar. This video was shot on 4 Mile Road, south of S Drive South. In this video you will see heavy rain, dime sized hail, and a wind gust measured at 42 miles an hour. I contacted the Grand Rapids National Weather Service about 15 minutes later as they were issuing a Severe Thunderstorm Warning on the cell. i can see things quickly deteriorated about 3 mins into the video. i really wanted to see some hail in the storm i intercepted but didn't get any. oh well, there will always be another storm.

@CrazyChase12345 Yep, there will always be another storm! This year has been crazy. I do have a second video of this cell with more hail. I actually had to bail east because the hail was picking up. That video is called Hail - Severe Thunderstorm Warned Supercell - Athens, Michigan. I am surprised I did not run into you. I was gassing up at the Citgo on Beckley down by Walmart at about five minutes before your started shooting you video!
