Pete (April 17,2000-March 20,2009)

With his family by his side Pete was laid to rest on March 20 just 28 days short of his ninth birthday. The cause of his rapid decline in health will never be truly known as he had very few definitive symptoms. Pete suffered from Cushing's Disease and was diagnosed with pancreatitis, through a pancreas biopsy, three days before his life was humanely ended. Following his surgery he never resumed eating and grew weaker by the day. Blood work results gave reason to believe that he also had bone marrow cancer but by that time he was to weak to undergo treatment. Goodbye "Piggy". There will never be another one like you.

What an amazing animal. He had the most magnificent eyes! I'm sure he was very loved, and had someone there to help him every step of the way. I'm so sorry about the loss of your best friend! He is just amazing. I will keep Pete in my prayers. God bless!

Sorry for your loss. He was a beautiful dog! I am currently searching for answers as to what may be wrong with my 10 yr old golden. After researching, I wondered if it was cushings. We can't afford a lot of tests so I'm worried we will also have to put her down. Only time will tell I guess...Thanks for sharing.

So sorry for your loss,he had lovely eyes and was beautiful,I'm going to have to say goodbye to my friend,Kim in the new year,she's 11 and has cushings-I don't want her to suffer numerous blood tests etc,I'd rather say goodbye a day too early than a day too late xxx

sorry about the loss of your beautiful husky pete. i know how you feel, i had to put my husky named miko to rest march 2nd 08, she was 15, i think about her every day, and miss her so much, once again i'm sorry.
