The black and white then red and yellow he talks about are stages in alchemy. The process begins with the nigredo(black) then progresses with albedo(white) then continues with citrinitas(yellow) and ends or culminates with rubedo(red). Rubedo(red) being the apex of a transfigurative becoming, the Lapis Philosophorum(Philosopher's Stone). No supernatural bullshit, quite the contrary, natural magick and actually more akin to psychology. Ahh, Tool is a breath of fresh 'air'.
