What's up with all these youtubers asking for money now? It's your right and everything. Making videos isn't cheap but I only recently noticed this trend. I've been subscribed to some people for 3-5 years now and they never asked for money once. Now almost everyone else is asking for money. wth?

We're all fans of Jesus. He said, "Ask and ye shall receive." But why don't you see if from the other side? Usually, to get something you value and want, you HAVE to pay your money up front to get it. Here, you're getting it for free (if that's the way you want to play it), and you never have to watch a single moment of the asking part. That's pretty nice if you ask me. Oh wait, you're not asking for anything.

It's not like a pandemic. Maybe I overreacted, but it has become fairly uncommon, rather than not at all. I think it's because I went from watching the most popular youtubers who probably make enough money from youtube alone, to watching more important, educational videos that the ordinary masses may not be all that interested in.

Well personally I know only two channels that have done this.

Mr. D of course above has done it for a long time to try to help fund the show or sell merch and one other who did it out of honest desperation. Guys mom is really sick and he was asking for a bit of help covering her expenses. He runs a good channel if you ask me, a good variety of content and he is a pretty bright guy, his channel is pretty small to so even if he is a partner he isnt bringing in much on that.
