Scientists from Bonn University attempt to open a 3500 year-old perfume flask.
The originally sealed flask most likely belonged to Hatshepsut, the first female pharaoh who ruled Egypt in around 1500 BC, and is now part of the collection in the Bonn Universitys Egyptian Museum. Analysis of the flasks content will allow scientists, under the supervision of Helmut Wiedenfeld, the director of Bonn Universitys Pharmacological Institute, to reconstruct the scent used by Queen Hatshepsut 3500 years ago.
