Well ofcourse Mozart and Beethoven was greatly influnced by Haydn. Haydn was a friend of Mozart and the teacher of Beethoven. He IS " The Father of Symphony" and " The Father of String Quartet " . Truly a magnificent man.
to the video - Amazing . It was wonderful. The dynamics IMO are outstanding . The whole group knows this song.

@bindercobt word up! and this theme is taken from a Croatian song, Oj, Jelena, Jelena, jabuka zelena. Turns out Handel, Haydn and the whole bunch are what we would consider in modern times to be "samplers" of sorts.

@dukedome the main theme is based on london street cries, hence the name the london symphony. People would sing songs on the streets of london to advertise what they were selling. Hayden like the tunes, so he put them in his 104th symphony

@Graoutine jelena zelena moja ljubava..hayden stole it from a croatian folk song. because his neighbors were croatian - not scots.... jelena zelena... by the way some scots have the I haplogroup so that makes us cousins.

the main theme of the finale is a folk song! interesting how haydn craftly works with it...

You have to understand that Mozart and Beethoven were greatly influenced by Haydn. Haydn IS famous! He was the most famous composer of his time. He not only created the quartet but also fine tuned and gave meaning to the symphony! He is a genius and my favorite composer. Nobody plays like Haydn and Mozart tried to imitate him so much. Beethoven took Haydn's piano sonatas and used them to manipulate his tunes. Moonlight sonata from Beethoven is based off of one of Haydn's own sonatas.
