Real nice playing, and fantastic tone. I think that's one of the nicest sounding guitars you've ever played for us. Beautiful looking as well. Cheers

I should add, it goes without saying that the volume pot will also make a huge difference in perceived output/tone since it affects the signal from the pickups. I think Gibson uses odd values of 100k and 300k for the volume and tone pots respectively in the Lucille. This is alot different than the common 500k/500k combination often used in LP's and 335's. People often think the varitone is solely responsible for the voicing of the guitar, but alot of it comes from choice of pots and electronics.

Interesting stuff... Thanks for that information!

I believe it's 5 different tone caps plus a bypass giving 6 positions in total. The effectiveness/tone changes dramatically depending on your tone pot - quality, type ie audio or linear taper, rating ie 250 or 500k, and how you set them. With your tone knob(s) rolled back or to zero, you get very different sound vs if your tone knob rolled up. Some varitones good others not. May have to do with the ratings of the tone pots and if they're balanced or not. Could be +/- 10 to 20% of what you think.
what reverb are you using? Sounds so good...
