AV software is not really needed on Mac OS X, if one employs common sense*.

Look for the "Mac Virus / Malware Guide" on MacRumors to learn more about Mac OS X and available malware and the differences and ways to protect yourself.

@testoffaith1972 i have norton for mac, well norton internet security and i think it actually relly good, they redesigned the program so i runs alot smoother and doesnt take up as much ram, i live in two places, spain in the summer and new york during the other months, the internet connection i have in spain is like 10X slower but my computer still runs very fast, i would recommend it

Well, I've used Virus Barrier X5 for a couple of years now, and it's always ran very well on OS X Leopard. I also upgraded to Snow Leopard, and it runs fine on Snow Leopard. I don't see why Virus Barrier X5 would freeze on you. That's strange. I have the same OS on my Mac, and it's never froze on me. Sorry to hear it froze on you. Maybe you have some outside application that's conflicting with Virus Barrier.

yo, you like intego? I downloaded the Virus Barrier x5 (trial) and It froze during the first scan 3 times. Are you running snow leopard? ( I do) after that i just got avast it great rating all over the net, free, and so far it works good. but I dont think its as safe as Intego.

Intego Virus Barrier X5 is the best anti-virus for Mac. That's what I have. All those other programs are pure crap!
