Sir Isaac Newton (1642-1727) is widely regarded as the greatest scientist in the history of the world. A physicist, mathematician, astronomer, philosopher and theologian, one of Newton's works, "Philosophia Naturalis Principia Mathematica" (1687), is considered to be the most influential book in the history of science. Yet relatively few people are aware of Newton's very serious pursuit into alchemy and the esoterica, the practice of which would have been deemed heretical in his day.
Beautifully written and directed, with fantastic acting and costume, "Newton: The Dark Heretic" (2003) explores Newton's alchemical endeavours, revealing a man few would recognise. Many of Newton's private manuscripts are examined, which paint a very spiritual man who was absolutely consumed with unraveling the mysteries of the universe, a pursuit which would ultimately push him to the brink of insanity.

And how can you say that the size and age of the universe is insignificant?....That´s just ridiculuos, of course it´s significant. I mean, look at the video here on youtube named The Grand scale of the Universe.....and tell me you´re a hundred precent sure that there isn´t life anywhere out there....depending on your answer i will judge you as a normal person, or a complete idiot.
the age of the universe? 14,000,000,000 years old. the odds of a bacteria occuring by chance? 1 with 30,000 zeros after it. thats just a bacteria and the person who came up with those odd is an evolutionist. if you want to believe in evolution, fine. but please don't try to tell me that it is scientific. Darwins entire theory depends on simple life being simple. it is not. it is incredibly complex. compound probability makes the age and size of the universe irrelevant.
I´m quite ashamed actually. I´ve been arrogant to people that thinks diffrent from me for to long. Your comment was quite a wake up call, even tho i study science i´m still just a guy in school yet.
so, the odds for a bakteria occuring by chance is it 1 with 30,000 zeros after it, a year?
I can´t help but to think that since it happened here, the conditions must be essential, and thinking of how many solar systems there is out there i´m bound to belive that there is at least one that´s like ours. Or that life has found another way to exist.
but that is also my point. you assume it happened here because we ARE here. that is circular reasoning. also since the probabilities are so infinitesimally small that life happened here be accident even if, for arguments sake, that evolution happened here on earth it would make a total mockery of mathematics and rational thought if it happened anywhere else. so if it happened this is the only place that it did.
Heh evolution violates reason you say...... Alot of animals from every spicie is born every day. And since the first life on this planet there have been quite alot of days. So if we take it in a way you´d understand it: It´s like buying alot of lottery tickets every day in billions of years that the genes will mutate......and well if i didn´t win in that time i´d be quite pissed off.
its not a matter of winning once. thats the point. since almost all mutations are either detrimental or neutral it would require a positive mutation follow immediately after another positive mutation etc. this is ridiculous. evolution can't even account for amino acids which are necessary for life. how can it possibly account for anything complex.

This is not really rational thinking i suppose.
I find this subject very interesting though.

Since life is to complex for randomly occuring you think it has to have been made?
Am i right?
