Start Up & Rev of a 2008 GMC Canyon.

This has a 3.7L DOHC Inline 5 Cylinder making a decent 242 HP while it's paired to a lame 4 Speed Auto.

This is a small pickup but not a bad 1. The interior is just all cheap man made materials & this was a base model crew cab. It' does have a rather high HP 5 Cyl engine with lots of torque but sadly it's to a 4 Speed auto. This engine would've done great with 5 or more. It does serve as a decent work truck and if you need to bring so passengers along, it should suffice OK too.

Another variation of this pickup is the Chevrolet Colorado. This & the Colorado also come with a smaller 2.9L 4 Cyl. And the 2009 and newer models are also offered with a 5.3L V8 making 300 HP which ought to make this a rocket of a pickup.

  • how is it on gas?

  • @williamlikeschese One of the worst. Heavy truck & paired to a 4AT doesnt help. Might as well get a fullsize GM truck

  • A Tacoma is SOOOOO much better. This thing is such a death trap. Horrible side, rear, and roll over ratings from the IIHS. And the interior is soo horrible. The only thing I like in it is that 3700 inline 5! Sounds alot like a viper!

  • @Motorfordtoyota

The one that must really be a death trap is the 5.3L V8 version.. Way too much engine for such a little truck. These 5 cyl werent bad tho but the truck is, well, just like you say it in some sense LOL..

  • @Intechdude300 check out the 2011 i have on my account. but id love to have a 5.3 colorado/canyon, but id try to find one with a blown motor and swap a 6.0 or even the 8.2 into it.

  • @automotiveDIY Yeah theres hardly any V8 of these out there. But don't go overboard if you plan on some engine swapping, these trucks are extremely lightweight in back. The 5.3L is more than enough engine for these IMO

  • @spectrospirit you have the 5 valve and 5 cyl mixed up

  • the one thing ill give the h3 you could get the i5 with a manual tranny

  • Maybe it sounds a bit like Volvo, but Audi invented its 5 valve inline first. You should check out their S2 or RS2, the sound is mental and it is pure joy to hear it scream.

Oh, and at idle you can actually hear the deep rumbling which tells that this isn't just any engine you should take lightly.

I can't really hear any deep rumble from the Viper before it reaches a certain point in the register, at idle that V10 sounds very similar to some old junkyard 4 cyl ;)

Check it out for yourself =P

  • what a gay interior my colorado has black carpet and black door panels and a volvo engine what are you talking about its a chevy dumbass

  • @JFguitar22 Interior in the Colorado is built like pure shit. I turned the headlight switch in a 2011 at a dealer and the switch broke out of the dash. Im sorry, but Colorado/Canyons are pieces of shit.

  • @Motorfordtoyota tacoma interior looks like a car so shut up ...when i drive a truck i like to feel that i'm in a trucl and the interior of the colorado looks like a truck

  • @Intechdude300 if i had one, id probably stick the front suspsnsion from a 4x4 model in it, and do the 4x4 conversion at the same time.
