Paper Planes (720P)

A short movie about undercover cops trying to catch a potential terrorist.

This is a polished version of our entry in the 2011 Hamilton 24 Hour Film Festival. For anyone that doesn't know about H24, basically you sign up then on the event day at 8pm they give you all the details and a line of dialogue, a location, and a prop that must be included in the film. Then you have from 9pm that night to 9pm the following night to come up with an idea, script, film and edit a 5 min or less short film that includes those three things, and It must be handed in before 9pm or it is disqualified.

The line of dialogue this year was, "Bring the dog, I love animals. I'm a great cook." The prop was a over sized paper airplane, and the location was in a reflection.

It took us all night to come up with an idea and script, only to have it ruined the next day due to pouring rain for half the day, so we had to come up with a way to change the idea to be mostly indoors because it was originally supposed to be all outdoors. By the time we were done shooting we only had like 2 to 2.5hours left to edit but that was squished to like 1.5 to 2 hours because we were having problems getting the video to capture right.

Editing was done in Adobe Premiere Pro
Special effects were done in Adobe After Effects and Adobe Photoshop
Colour Correction was done in Final Cut Pro
Encoding/compressing was done in Adobe Media Encoder
