Although I'm not from the coal mining region of Appalachia, I can relate to the L&N Railroad and its rumblings and rattlings only feet from our front door in Louisville, Kentucky. That was many years ago but the metaphors trains create still remain, making memories of coal mining all too realistic for those who were "borned and raised at the mouth of a Hazard holler."
